First Lutheran Church was established in 1902 at 228 W. 3rd Street in Oklahoma City and came to it's present location in 1912. We are a member of the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations(AFLC). For more information on the AFLC, please visit www.aflc.org
We are Christian:
We believe that Jesus Christ is our personal Lord and Savior.
"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." - Acts 4:12
We also believe that Jesus Christ wants all persons to be saved.
"Who wants all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of truth." - I Timothy 2:4
We are Lutheran:
We hold to Martin Luther's great Reformation principles of Scripture alone, grace alone, and faith alone in Jesus Christ.
Scripture alone: "All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness." - II Timothy 3:16
Grace alone: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast." - Ephesian 2:8-9
Faith alone: "This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe." - Romans 3:22
